Tess has been able to climb out of her crib for months, but it only became a problem a week and a half ago when she decided at naptime she no longer wanted to stay in bed. She climbed out again and again and then figured out she could open her door also. I scrambled to find a door knob child lock and that night the crib came down. (Luckily we already had another mattress and bed frame from Aunt Heather) She couldn't quite figure out what was happening until the new bed was all put together and then she was all smiles!
I was dreading the long night ahead of us, but it really wasn't bad at all. The next few nights were a bit tougher, but she is loving this new big girl bed!
Unfortunately being a big girl also has some drawbacks because this mom makes you throw away your own binkies! It was time...
It was no big deal until she realized they weren't coming back out of the trash. And then she cried, and cried, and cried some more.To further show her displeasure with the situation she is protesting by not sleeping in the new bed she loves. The first night after crying for an eternity, I found her like this...
The next night...
And the next...
At some point during her crying each night, she neatly laid our her blanket on the ground and laid herself down with Cinderella baby to fall asleep.
We'll see how long this goes on.
