This morning we took a tour of the West Jordan Fire Department with some of our best friends.
Allison with Ellie and Tate, and Michele with Ava)
Wesley couldn't have been more excited to get there and the tour didn't disappoint. The firemen were great with the kids and even let them climb into the command center on the big 'Heavy Rescue' truck. We would have jumped up on the ladder truck too, but they got called out while we were there. A few minutes later, the ambulance was called out also, so the kids were able to see the firemen in action!
The flash pretty much ruined this picture, but I love that the fire sticker is stuck in Jack's hair. That Jack is a crazy kid.
Did you know....
There are many different kinds of 'fire trucks'... for example... Ladder Trucks - have ladders, duh!, Fire Engines - no ladders, Heavy Rescue - used rarely for BIG problems
and... the firefighters buy their own grocerys at the beginning of each shift, always at our local Maceys. And if they happen to get a call while shopping, they run out leaving the cart wherever they were and then some nice Maceys worker walks through the store to find the cart and puts in the the fridge until they get back. This is why I LOVE Maceys.
Thank you West Jordan Fire Department!
You guys are awesome!
