It's been a fun day! Tess was eager to use her birthday gift so she was out in the backyard bright and early. Jack, on the other hand, was certain the rest of his summer was ruined due to this broken arm. Jeremy and Jen invited us to her parent's house to play on the inflatable water slide, but Jack can't get his cast wet... so we decided to improvise. A washcloth and many layers of plastic wrap made us pretty comfortable with him getting wet. All of the kids had a great time and Wesley even got to see Jackson, his friend from school, who lives down the street from Jen's parents.
We spent the afternoon at Chris and Lory's with Uncle Jerry's family from Indiana. Lots more kids to play with! And how cute are their Fourth of July shirts?! Mimi bought those, she is always surprising them!

We finished off the night with some neighborhood fireworks and friends. Then came home to realize Jack had gotten a crazy sunburn during our hours on the slide earlier. We had only sunscreened him with his shirt on because we didn't think he was getting wet, then we forgot to reapply when we changed the plan. But I had to giggle... look at those backward tan lines!
