Wesley, Jack, and Avery are still just too young and go to bed too early to take them to any major fireworks show. So for the past couple years, we've bbq'd and watched Matt light a couple little "fireworks" in the front yard.
These super cool glasses say "USA" in every firework,
you have to see it to believe it.
you have to see it to believe it.

Before putting the boys to bed (at 8pm) I told them I would wake them up for the real fireworks in the "middle of the night" (10pm). So when the sky is finally dark enough and the fireworks are going off, Brad and I woke up Wesley and Jack and took them to the front porch. (We have can see a ton set off by our awesome neighbors). But two seconds after walking outside Wesley said it was too loud and he wanted to go back to bed. Jack on the other hand loved it and stayed up for another hour. Trouble is, Wesley woke up the next morning so upset that we had't gotten him up to see anything. He didn't remember us getting him out of bed at all.
Good thing we've got the 24th to make up for it!
