Let's face it, some days motherhood is hard, at least for me. I'm not going to lie, I even asked Brad to come home a half hour early last week as I was facing a major meltdown.
But, then there are the days (more like moments) that are completely rewarding. Yesterday, we went to the church's Art Museum downtown and while we were there Wesley walked right up to the pulpit (a replica from the Kirtland Temple) and bore his testimony. It was so genuine and very sweet, especially because it was not solicited or rehearsed. Also, the other day, out of nowhere, he said "Mom, I love my Jesus and my prophet." So, I guess somewhere in the middle of my bad days we're doing something right.
And if you know my boys at all, you know they always pick their dad over me. Not that I'm complaining, it's usually nice to have a break. But, last week Jack was having kind of a rough afternoon and when Brad got home I thought for sure Jack would run to his dad for comfort. Instead he ran into my arms! I mean really, that's nearly unheard of. And it was a really great moment.
And to top it all off, Avery is smiling. I love the first baby smiles. So there you have it, these are the moments that I look forward to, and I love every second of it.

Oh baby Avery! So cute! Can't wait to see her and those cute boys again...
This post is so true. It is those little things that make us feel like a better parent. Being a mommy can be so hard and very exhausting. You are doing a great job. I love Avery's smile
I love the sweater she is wearing, it makes me want to pick her up and squish her. ;) You are a great mom. It's extra hard to have so many so little when you aren't sleeping yet or is it Avery that isn't sleeping?! Either way, no one is sleeping! I do have to say that when we went to the Church Museum, Braxton stood at the pulpit and he started off his "talk" with, "I'm President Thomas Monson and..." I love the glimpse into how much they are learning. Now that you have read my novel...Beautiful smile Avery!
I love you friend! :) You are a great mom and your kids are all such gems.
